Now, I wonder when he's having "LAZY" surgery.

Is there a surgical procedure that can fix that?

Exactly why is this injury/surgery so damaging?

It used to be that a pitcher blew out his arm and his career was done. That was in the 70's. Tommy John surgery is now so successful that many pitchers come back stronger than before. That was decades ago. We now have computers and lasers and all kinds of doo-hickies to improve on surgery. Somebody enlighten me.

They still don't have a great way to repair/replace

cartilage unfortunately. When someone is having microfracture surgery, its to replace damaged or missing cartilage that attaches to the end of your leg bones so they don't rub together. The microfracture surgery scars the area, and scar tissue replaces the missing cartilage, but its not the same type as the original and doesn't last as long either.

There is a lot of discussion now about whether elite athletes should even have it at all. Its pretty sad for Clowney actually, makes you wonder if this was something that was already happening regardless of his recent injury.

Thanks. I didn't realize it was cartilage

I don't hate the guy like a lot of people on here do. Injuries are far too common in this sport. Can you imagine if Bo Jackson hadn't torn his leg apart? That guy would be called the greatest ever.

Honestly I hate to hear this coot or not.

Yes, Clowney got in Tajh's head and beat us three times. But he has been fun to watch and is a once in a generation kind of player. I was looking forward to seeing him stud out on the pros.
