Clemson - NCST predictions & why?

Nov 1, 2017, 11:57 AM

NCST feels they have the egde over us because of what happened last year...Id say the complete opposite. We played one of our worst games offensively and continuously gave them the ball and NCST STILL couldn't find a way to beat us...don't see how that gives someone confidence but whatever floats your boat I guess.

Their defense is nothing to be scared of. Yeah Chubb is an animal but I like our chances against a one headed monster d-line. I don't see us having any issue at all moving the ball, especially against one of the worst pass coverage teams in the country.

If Hines is a no go, don't expect them to score more than 14. Clemson wins 35-17 (Because reserves give up one td late)

Thoughts and score predictions?

31-13 Tigers , and it will be worse than that
The Tiger D will completely shut them down .
The second half will be boring and that's a good thing

I really think this game has the potential to..

Nov 1, 2017, 12:03 PM

get out of hand. I just don't see how they match up with us across the board. We'd really have to play our absolute worst game

Re: I really think this game has the potential to..

I think that out worst game has already been played against Syracuse, and two games like that within weeks apart, I would think that takes us out of elite status, so, I don't see our guys allowing that to happen!!!

I can't see it either..

Nov 1, 2017, 12:16 PM

Especially with how deep we are all across the board.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I agree - it's that time of the season now...........

Nov 1, 2017, 12:10 PM [ in reply to Re: Clemson - NCST predictions & why? ]

when we need to unload on our opponents - need to pound them from the opening kickoff.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Exactly, the committee likes big wins

Nov 1, 2017, 12:13 PM

Enough of this doing what you have to do to get by. Close wins could potentially not get us in the playoff..

Dabo absolutely believe that a team should play their best in November. Saturday is November 4th, our best FB should be on display at Carter Finley stadium, and here's to hoping we don't let them slide with the Rent payment!!!

Preach. No more playing safe

Nov 1, 2017, 12:26 PM

Id love to see lots of deep shots down the field.

Re: Clemson - NCST predictions & why?

Nov 1, 2017, 12:03 PM

I feel we win.....because we should...

NC St will pose a problem because of three things...

1. They always give us fits and usually play their best vs us.
2. They are at home.
3. They 22 returning starters on the team to include 12 seniors, 6 RS Juniors...now what that tells me is that their juniors aren't good enough to play in the league yet compared to our program...but that's my orange perspective. But football wise, that screams depth and experience...especially o the OL....

But like I said....we have better talent from top to bottom and should win this one handily if WE PLAY CLEMSON FOOTBALL...Only way we lose is if we turn the ball over 3+ tmes

Our current Jrs have 7 more wins than their Srs

Nov 1, 2017, 1:06 PM [ in reply to Re: Clemson - NCST predictions & why? ]

I'm not worried at all about NCSUs depth. It took them 4 years to do what we did 16 months (win 28 games.)

I trust Venables to contain Hines and make Finley beat us. The wild card is special teams.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

If Hines is out, im not too worried about special teams***

Tigers, 28-17. Because maff.

Nov 1, 2017, 12:53 PM

Throwing out the Kent St. and Furman games for us and them respectively ...

1) We score about 7 points more than our opponents allow on average, and they give up 24 points on average (24 + 7 = 31).

2) Their D allows about 4 points less than their opponents usually score on average, and we usually score 32 points on average (32 - 4 = 28). Let's go with the lower number since we're on the road. We score 28.

3) Likewise, they score about 7 points more than their opponents allow on average, and our D allows 15 points on average (15 + 7 = 22).

4) Our D allows about 18 points less than our opponents usually score on average, and they usually score 30 points on average (30 - 18 = 12). Take the average of 22 and 12 and we'll give them 17.

Tigers, 28-17.

Similar analysis says we should outgain them 419 yards to 319 yards.

Thanks for all the maff***

31-17 Clemson, because

Nov 1, 2017, 1:01 PM

Because we:

We take care of the ball on offense, with no critical turnovers
Give up no big punt or KO returns on special teams
Make a short FG when we need it
Make NC State one-dimensional by completely taking away their running game.

31-17 Clemson wins ...

Their starting and backup DT (not nose tackle) and a second string DE are questionable for Saturday. That D-line is hurting and is not as sold before the injuries.
