2021 Home / 2024 Away Schedule Opening P5 Candidates

Awesome news on a home and home with LSU!
We still have a Power 5 home date available in 2021 and an Away date in 2024 with ND mixed in those off years.
Checking my maffs, here are some Power 5 programs that have reciprocal away / home openings those years -
Baylor
TCU
Maryland (i know, i know)
Florida
Each of these has the space without overdoing their Power 5 numbers or home dates. The two Big 12 teams though do have the odd 9th conference game that could interfere.

i was just thinking about that. The B10 team has 9 games too. Florida would be a good change of pace. I could see us doing 2 neutral site games since the return trip is so far away. UGA in Atl one year and in CLT the other would be pretty cool. it would have to be neutral to schedule UGA since they are in the same home/away rotation as we are currently. I like UF on the schedule. good call

I've been looking at the same thing. The gators would be awesome.
I don't the UGA series is going to happen. They're H&A with Tech is sync'ed with our Coot-killing, so the Dawgs would want to reverse that with us traveling in 21 and them returning in 24. That ain't happening with our OOC home games in '21 being with UConn and Wyoming.
Other than that (P5 H&A in '21 and '24), our schedule is pretty locked down except the dates of the H&A with ND in '27 and '28, Group of Five slots in '26, '27, and '28, and a FCS slot in '28. That's it - six slots in the next 11 years.
UGA is in a different place, in addition to the '21 opening, they have 17 more games to schedule during that same time period.

after 2014 when the ACC shifted our annual schedule with Ga. Tech when Syracuse and Pitt came in. We played Ga. Tech twice in a row at home several years back to work out the rest of the league's scheduling kinks. Not forward thinking upstairs on that one considering that natural OOC rivalry and the spotlight it brings both leagues.

That was as Ga Tech's request as they only sell season tickets with either us or Ugay in the package, which is what will FU the CU-UGA series.
Very ironic considering GaT were threatening to drop the only-in-Atlanta series and George Bennett's two-dollar bill campaign convinced the Atlanta CoC that they'd be happy to have Clemson once every other year rather than not at all.

A home and away with Florida would be great, but they haven't played a true non-conference road game (outside of FSU and Miami) since 1991 at Syracuse. It's time they step up to the plate.

Maryland is an embarrassment. I don’t want to touch that program ever again.
TCU we played at home about a decade or so ago.
Just don’t see Florida happening, although that would be awesome.
Baylor could be cool.
My money is on two neutral-site games- at least one with Georgia- and that’s too bad. I like home-and-homes.

I don't think we ever will give up 7 home games, and the schedule doesn't allow a P5 neutral. I've worked hard on the schedule and can send a .xls file to anybody interested.
