2017 season

Nov 15, 2016, 6:12 PM

I've started to ponder what next year's team will look like now that the regular season is coming to a close.

New qb
New running back starter ( probably rb by committee)
Good wr
Improved oline

Great defense.

Schedule, we have auburn fsu at home, Louisville road. Not sure about coastal opponents.

To me its not too crazy to expect a playoff run again even with a new qb. Hell we will have plenty of talent to choose from out of all the guys here and committed.

Again just some thoughts.

Defense will be strong, if Cooper can just manage the offense we will be fine. I suspect we will be favored in every game except Louisville.

Agreed. Cooper just needs to get the ball to the playmakers similar to the way Jalen Hurts is doing at Alabama this year. I would love to see a true every down back emerge next year and I think Cordarrian Richardson could be in line to become a starter as the season wears on.

WR should be about the same with the new guys coming in and the defense should have a few upgrades most notably at the LB position and more experience in the secondary.

Clemson has the talent to make another run and with nobody expecting them to be much without Deshaun we have nothing to lose

Yeah, but ACC is pretty weak so we should be able to breeze through.

VT in Blacksburg, FSU with no Jimbo and a bunch of Jr'/s leave for draft. @Louie is tough.
BC, WF, GT, FSU, Aub, kent st, citadel at home. Cake walk essentially.
@Syr, @Louie, @VT, @ NCSt & Cocky will be better than awful.
Syr/ncst/vt all improved but not on our level ao we should be able to sail through this swiss cheese schedule with any QB, awesome D, and dominant OLine.

Yes. Here's the scheduled teams and some dates. I'm going to predict we play VT on a Thursday night. http://www.fbschedules.com/ncaa-17/2017-clemson-tigers-football-schedule.php
