What is my favorite rivalry moment?

Nov 19, 2018, 3:58 PM

Standing on the sidelines watching Pharoh Cooper try to figure out where he misplaced his gloves of course!

Mine...

The Catch 1.0 when Jerry Butler stunned the coots in Columbia.
The Catch 2.0 when Gardner excited the home crowd with what coots called a push off. Bottom line, the best athlete went up and got the ball.

Worst moment...Jad Dean's missed FG or losing #5 in a row. Both were bad and tied for the worst.

Probably the Fuller to Butler TD grab to win the game @ Coot Palace.

Or - craziest was the insane brawl @ the Valley during Hoax's last year (or next to last year - before ESPN attempt). That thing started spreading into the stands & we thought there could be full-blown RIOT!

But 1 of the best was in the Valley - Spurrier's next to last year. The game still had about 3 min on the clock, & Sprurrier called no timeouts & just let it end. I turned to my son & said, "He quit. He's going to leave & hang it up." Turns out, that's exactly what he WANTED to do, but they begged him to come back. He did, but quit the next year - mid-season.

Great memory from 1995. An oldie but a goodie.

Oh man that was great. I was a junior with two of my senior buddies and we were sitting in the scar student section right in front of their cheerleaders. Their head cheerer was actually a friend of mine from high school, and after some oranges started flying on the endzones, he shouted "that if I see another orange, I'm throwing at their team. It was amazing, there must have been 20 oranges thrown right at him. Great day! And no, he didn't throw any at the team.
