Back then I mostly watch the NFL. I walked in my cousin's house, the game was on and the first play I see was the interception/ Woody punch. I noticed the score and said "wow, Clemson is going to beat OH ST. Four years later Clemson was NC.

Thank you for the heads up. That was my first bowl trip. I was in the 11th grade and had a blast. Me and friend loaded up at the last minute and made the trip. And brought home the W!

Watching the game now. The announcers just said the night before the game, Danny was given a $14k dollar car the night before the game by the Clemson boosters. That may have been a new F100 pickup back then, but couldn't get a Kia Rio today

Don't know if it was the same game, but I remember his getting an Orange Jaguar or Nissan or Toyota sports car. Thought it might have been during Orange Bowl NC game in '82.
It was not Danny's type of car & don't think he ever drove it much. But he wasn't going to appear ungrateful.

The car was a Jaguar and was intended for Pell. When Pell left, it was given to Danny. He thanked them and said that a pickup was more his style. I don't remember if Danny kept the Jaguar.
I do remember that Danny's first contract was $29K per year, and things certainly have changed.

What is ESPNC? I pay extra for all the #### sport channels on Dish and I don't see it

First, you could not see anything on those curved screens and you were lucky if you got good reception. Oh and don't get me started on the offenses they ran back then. It was like every game was against Georgia Tech.

That's crazy. I'm guessing Mrs Danny drove that as I cant see Mr. Danny driving one. Probably one of the few you'd see in Clemson. If u were there, u had alot of company. Looked pretty packed. The stadium looks nothing like today's Gator Bowl. If it is the same stadium

It's not on Dish. They removed it and made It an On-Demand channel.
