Not unless you want him pelted with bottles and asking you why all the people dressed in red have their middle fingers out.

Absolutely! I am taking my 15 year old daughter and this

Nov 27, 2015, 5:18 PM

will be her 2nd trip...went when she was 13.

Scar fans are fine...unless you talk junk to them.

Go in there with respect, cheer for your team, and be respectful and all will be good.

Great memories for you and your son.

When my daughter was 9, we went to a Raiders Panthers game in Oakland

Nov 27, 2015, 5:26 PM

Sat what you want about Columbia, but it is no Oakland. We sat at the 50 surrounded by spiked shoulder pad face painted Raiders fans.
We cheered quietly for the Panthers.. it was a blast.

Nov 27, 2015, 5:48 PM

Yes but bring ear muffs for the language you will hear.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

if you go, hopefully you'll be in a clemson section.

Nov 27, 2015, 5:52 PM

and maybe take a pair of earplugs to shield him from
the profanity (hopefully the chickens will be receiving a
major beatdown).
go tigers!!!!

Re: 10 yr. old son never been to a game...should I take him?

Nov 27, 2015, 5:54 PM

By all means. Go! It's history dad.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

noon game...sure take him...

Nov 27, 2015, 5:57 PM

let him see his Tigers beat the crap out of a chicken. Before going into the stadium go ahead and tell him what he may hear and see. Could be a learning lesson on how to not act. If the cussing and fingers start to fly, tell him you never expect that out of him. Plus, at 10, he has probably seen a lot of it already. Hopefully, the stadium will empty at the half.

Night game.....would not take him. Too much time for the coots to get drunk.

Re: 10 yr. old son never been to a game...should I take him?

Nov 27, 2015, 5:57 PM

Of course. Took my now 3 yr old at 6 months. I'd do it all over again. Gotta bring em up right.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Couldn't imagine subjecting a 6 mo old to all that noise!***

Nov 27, 2015, 5:59 PM

I'm taking my son.

Depends. The noon kick helps.

Nov 27, 2015, 6:01 PM

Fewer drunks on both sides.

If I were sitting in a Clemson section, I would take a kid who has been to a game before.

Not sure about the coots @ the WB for a first game, but it's been a magical season and if I had tix among the Tiger faithful, I would take my son.

It's not without risk.

2024 white level memberbadge-donor-05yr.jpg2016_nascar_champ.gif flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

No. Not a kid friendly game.

Nov 27, 2015, 6:04 PM

Take him to see us play a Wake Forest or Syracuse, not South Carolina. Like many other have stated, some of the Gamecock faithful will be ugly regardless of the outcome.

Re: 10 yr. old son never been to a game...should I take him?
