she always reminded me of a distant relative of mine who lived to 102. Bot lived very long lives

Two-time Academy Award winning actress, died in her sleep, at age 104, in her villa in France. Hard to draw a better hand than that! She was very talented.

Even as a youngster, I was in love with "Melanie" in GWTW (or should I say, "Olivia..."?) She was one of the best and most beautiful ever. And to think she was only two yrs. younger than my own dad, geez!

compass of the "Gone With The Wind" characters. Even though De Haviland won her two Oscars for other films, I don't think there is any doubt that she is best remembered for her role as Melanie Hamilton Wilkes from that movie. RIP, Mellie. :(
