I'd like to think that Spurrier's decision was b/c

Oct 13, 2015, 10:54 AM

he's doing everything he can to aid in the future of the program yada yada. But..In reality, I think he realized the aura of success as Florida's hc had finally fizzled out, both amongst his peers and potential recruits. His current coaching mentality was obviously hurting recruiting. After reading gs's article(hopefully he'll retire too) in the post&courier this morning, I have to agree that his decision most likely has nothing to do with helping others around him or the future of the program, but rather his reputation and legacy...

"He will leave Columbia very well aware that another legacy remains intact: No losing full seasons in 22 years as an SEC head coach." -Gene Sapakoff P&C

Yep, that whole "losing season" thing was a big part of this***

It's a full season for him.

If it isn't health reasons - He's a QUITTER!

He couldn't take the pressure.

He wussed out.
