Question regarding ND bowl tie-ins and revenue . . .

Sep 12, 2012, 5:20 PM

I understand that ND will not be part of the ACC in football, but will only play 5 games against ACC members per year, none of which will count as conference games or in conference standings. Got it.

I also understand that ND will not be part of the ACC/BCS/Orange Bowl tie-in; BUT they may still be the Opponnent of the ACC in these games, in which case they keep all of the revenue, with no conference split. Got it.

I also understand that ND WILL have access to non-BCS bowls through the ACC tie-ins, as if it were a full ACC member, with the exception that they would be eligible with one fewer win than any ACC team that would be considered. Got it. The question is, in this scenario, does Notre Dame keep all of the revenue, or do they split it with the other ACC schools?

That didn't take long lol.

According to the ACC Sports Journal, they told me Notre Dame with keep bowl revenue, but the ACC will not pay for bowl travel expenses like it does for all other schools.

Wow - that eliminates one of the major positives of this

deal for the ACC. We give them access to a bowl, a bowl in which one of our full-member schools could participate and share the revenue. Wow.

ND gets picked to go to the Orange Bowl with a worse record than us. The hate will flow like water.

Well, if you have been reading that won't happen

This is only non-BCS level bowls

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

The can only be an ACC opponent in the Orange Bowl***

Acutally not really unless they played in the Chick-fil-a

bowl. The ACC gives on avg $1.5 mil to schools for travel expenses, which is pretty much around the payout of every bowl other than than Chick-fil-a. So instead of getting the bowl revenue, they keep the travel expense making it a wash.

Our ACC just got screwed and their was no lubricant

This isn't my humble opinion this is fact.

Thing is, though, I expect to get at least one more good
