Question on carpet.

Jul 29, 2015, 1:20 PM

We are gonna sell our house and looking to replace the carpet in a few rooms. Who would be the best around Greenville area as far as pricing and install? They don't have to do the install but whichever would be the cheapest route I'm gonna take. If I have to buy it from one place and find somebody to install it that'll be fine. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I'd call Lowe's or Home Depot first....

Jul 29, 2015, 1:31 PM

Often times Lowes and Home Depot will offer free installation with a carpet and pad purchase that exceeds $500.

I would also recommend calling Empire. They're always offering some kind of buy one get one free type of deal.

This is, of couse, if you are looking to go the economy route.

Option. Rather than put in new cheap carpet that may turn

off potential buyers. Clean what you have and offer a floor covering allowance to your buyer so they can pick their own.

That's a good idea but new carpet already down will sell the house better.

Agreed....

being "move-in ready" is an important consideration for many home buyers.

Not so.

You can have the carpet down before the paper work is done. Just put that in the price and ask for enough to pay for it up front.

I didn't know people installed carpet any more. Hardwood floors is the only way to go!

Trust me, if I had the money right now I'd have hardwoods put in. I'm just wanting to make it look better without spending a chunk on it. The carpet that's in there was there when we bought the house and between my dogs and kids it's only gotten worse. I called lowes and they are gonna send a contractor out to give me an estimate so I guess I'll call a few more places and see what they say. I was hoping brazzy would say he got a new job selling carpet instead of furniture and give me a T-net discount. Thanks yall for the help. I greatly appreciate it.

Greer Flooring. They have always been fair with me.

Jul 29, 2015, 3:10 PM

I don't know if they would be the cheapest, though. Probably depends on what type of carpet you are looking to get.

My girls better keep it clean, no carpet.***
