How good would Van Gregg have been if they had the three point line in his day?

3 guys who could shoot the lights out from the foul line to the parking lot....Vann Gregg, Colon Abraham and Skip Wise...all 3 were great, line or no line....Tree Rollins, Wayne Croft and Jimmy Howell with Stan Rome....when those guys were around it was tough to get a ticket

Very good against the competition of his time. He did lose his starting spot to Skip Wise his senior season but anybody on any team with Wise would have ended up that way. Best I can remember Gregg was a good stop and pop shooter but whether he could get as many looks against today's quicker guards is speculative. I don't remember much about his speed and ball-handling.

NCAA basketball is watered down compared to the good old days. Guys played at least 3 years with a school. The one and done these days would make it easier for those guys to hit the three.

Skip Wise was the best Webb player we ever had. First freshman to ever make All ACC and Phil Ford was in the same class .

Trivia fact, someone (with a lot of time on their hands, went back and viewed all of Pete Maravich's films. If the had had the three point line back then, he would have averaged OVER 50 points a game.
