The NCAA's recent transfer rules changes have resulted in myriad high-profile moves — especially among quarterbacks. Ranking the best eligible to play in 2019:
#5. Hunter Johnson, Clemson --> Northwestern
#4. Kelly Bryant, Clemson --> Missouri
Of course, I think it's likely that Clemson's starting QB, Trevor Lawrence, is probably the best QB in the country (and a top candidate for the 2019 Heisman Trophy).
How did Clemson get to be Quarterback U?
Apparently it's something to do with high school football in the region, because there's another nearby school with similar results:
#3. Jacob Eason, Georgia --> Washington
(OK, the Dawgs only have one out-bound QB transfer -- plus one in-bound).
VT isn't doing bad (three 4-star QBs on the roster, despite losing a 4-star to Maryland), but... Hold that Tiger!
I would argue that Hunter should be #2 behind Fields. Yes neither has be tested on the field but that is exactly why Hurts, Eason, and Bryant take a step back. Each has shown ability but also limitations in their game. Eason may be #3 on my list due to his style fitting in some systems better than Hurts or Bryant.
