I actually participated in one of these back in 1980...

It was fun.

In reality the scouts were really only looking at one or two prospects who the team actually invited to attend. Everyone else who showed-up was simply used to shag balls all day.

I still can't believe they're paying this guy $12.5 million for his 7.78 ERA.
