We got the lab first, as a puppy. He was always high strung, even when he got older and out of the "puppy" stage. We got the GSP so the lab could have a friend, but the GSP was adopted and was probably 2 when we got him. He was always laid back and chill, so it did not have the effect of calming the lab that we hoped it would.

We figured the lab would calm down eventually but he never did. The GSP thought he was a 60 lb lap dog.

I'm celebrating Thanksgiving with the GF's family. There's gonna be 8 effing dogs there, including mine: Two labs, two GSPs, one enormous German shepherd, a boxer, my Siberian husky and border collie/lab mix. Someone's gonna need to cue up this song:

I don't know why he had to bark so much when I tied him to a tree stump for three hours.
Dumb dog.

Mine is just very needy, but he is spoiled

I have thought he may be happier with another puppy, but I dunno. I would probably end up just having two overly needy, spoiled dogs instead of one.

I have two dogs and it makes it tough sometimes. But I think they are soooo much happier being together. I work my job and have two other businesses so I dont spend near the time with them that I would like. (Hopefully that will slow down soon) And when we had our baby girl, my wife was not able to spend a lot of time with them. They have each other a lot of the time and will play with each other all the time. It really is a whole lot better for them... I would imagine if we only had one, it would be the most depressed dog besides crulez.
