Predictions for this weekend (Not Clemson)

Nov 15, 2019, 3:37 PM

1. Auburn beats UGA (This is based on the history of Auburn randomly deciding it is the best team in the country for one day of the year and that UGA is overrated.)

2. Iowa will beat Minnesota (This is based on the fact I spent a ton of time talking about how Minnesota should be in the top 4 and due to the fact that beating a team like Iowa after one of the biggest program wins in the last 75 years is going to be extremely difficult)

3. Notre Dame will beat the spread on Navy. Notre Dame is super pissed and Navy is not one of the best 25 teams in the country.

4. Baylor will not fall in the rankings on Tuesday.

5. UCLA will beat Utah and no Pac 12 teams will make it to the CFBP.

Those are some HOT takes, but good points. I like seeing others put their opinions out there and having some real football talk. That said, I have differing opinions on most of those games.

I can see your point on 1. 2 struggling offenses and 2 good defenses, means it could be anyone's game. I think UGA is the better team, but that Auburn D is good. It should only take a big play or 2 offensively or defensively to win that game for either team. I was leaning Auburn early in the week (See my pick em picks), but I'm leaning UGA now. I just don't trust Bo Nix to get it done against UGA defense.

2. I think Minnesota is going to feel disrespected being underdogs after that big win last week. I see them taking it personally and winning at Iowa. I do think they'll lose to Wisconsin in 2 weeks though having already clinched a chance to play Ohio St in the Championship game. Also, Iowa's offense is not good.

3. No clue, but my money is on Navy to cover. ND looks like a mess right now, but you may be right about them being mad.

4. Predicting a Baylor win over OU? I think OU gets back on track, but we'll see. They have been struggling.

5. Utah will beat UCLA by 20+. They've been mad and on fire since that loss to USC. Honestly though, I've been on them since the preseason to make the playoff, so I might as well not give up now.

Not trying to cause trouble, this is just my opinion and how I see it. This weekend should be fun. There is a lot of discussion like this where 2 people are of completely opposite opinions on a lot of different games.

On number 4, I am only predicting the specific wording I used. Nothing more, nothing less.

I'm picking Auburn, Minnesota, and Navy.

Not sure about Baylor/OU, as I expect OU to win and Baylor to drop.

UCLA will not beat Utah, and 1 team from the Pac-12 will make the CFP eventually.
