Thoughts and prayers would be greatly appreciated

Just got a phone call from family that my grandfather who was in the first stages of dementia has started talking about how he can't take it anymore and alluding to hurting himself. The doctors feel like he is moving to the next stage in this disease and it has taken a mental toll on him. They are taking him to the hospital for psychiatric evaluations. TIA.

I have been praying for folks with dementia for a long time now. I took my mother in law in our home to watch after her while my wife was at work for two years before she passed. Talking about getting attached to someone suffering with that horrible disease, I was. She has been gone since 2011, and I still cry thinking about her and all she taught me about living a good life before that disease completely took over her mine about 2-3 months before it took her life. She was one of the lovingest humans I've ever had the privilege of being around. Taking care of her when she really needed someone's help, it was the best thing I've ever done in my life, and I still miss the laughter from the conversations we had before Dementia had confused and scrambled the memories that I know she held dear for over 80 years. Dementia destroys the precious memories in people and leaves them in a very frighten and confuse state before they die. And it crushes the people that love them, and watched it happening a day at a time to the dreadful end. I know bc I watch it, and I felt it peel layers of my heart back until it bled streams of tears from the pain!!! I pray for God to bless people with dementia to a quick and painless death....
