Awful news for a friend at work

After an MRI last night, he learned that his 7yo son has Arnold-Chiari Malformation, where his skull never formed correctly. His brain is now hemorrhaging into his brain stem. Doctors say he is lucky with all of the football that he plays that he hasn't taken a hit that "did a lot of damage" we will say.
They are meeting with the neurosurgeon early next week.
Prayers or thoughts for his family would be appreciated, I can't imagine.

they visit the nuerosurgeon, but the main concern with surgery is a pretty high risk of paralyzation, since they are working with the brain stem.

I am so sorry to hear that. My heart goes out to the family and many prayers from my family to theirs. We have a child who has a severe disability and of course I can understand what is going through their minds right now. Its scary and something that's deniable, but the reality is that its there and we must rely on God to let his will be done!
