Prayers for my son.

Tonight I received a call from our high school football trainer. (Who did a fantastic job!) He tells me that my son is having chest pains, shortness of breath, sky high blood pressure and rapid heart rate. This is where our faith gets tested! I was at the school within five minutes. Our trainer had documented all his vitals every 15 minutes and kept precise records of everything that they had done from the time this all started.
We got him to the ER and all his tests came back good! It appears he has an inflammation of the sternum and rib cage area but there is a problem with his BP and we'll have to address that with our family doctor. We're not out of the woods yet but it could have been much worse! (I kept thinking of Ronald Rouse , the young man from Hartsville who died during a game last season)
Any prayers and/or good thoughts will be greatly appreciated! Hopefully he'll be back on the football field very soon! - Thanks guys!

anyone. Best of luck to your son and your entire family. I found out recently myself there are some terrific doctors in this state and we're all extremely lucky to have them.
And I hope whatever the diagnosis and therapy remain, he'll get a rapid and complete cure.....and for you too.

I've bruised my sternum before

It hurts and it makes it hard to breath. If you were breathing hard before you get hit in the chest, it makes it twice as hard to breath. I'm thinking the feeling of not being able to breath probably did a number on his blood pressure and heart rate. I'm hoping a few ibuprofen and a few days of rest set him straight.
