Poll: Who would you want to play in the Chick-fil-a kickoff?

Jul 24, 2014, 10:46 PM

What SEC team would you want to play in the Chick-fil-a kickoff game if you were given the pick? Supposedly there's rumblings of another game being offered to Clemson.

We've played all of the relevant teams here fairly recently.

Jul 24, 2014, 10:59 PM

I think i would go with LSU or A&M though.

We need to play Florida in the chickfila kickoff because we recruit heavily against Florida in that state! It would be a chance to get Florida prospects attention as well as more credit to the Acc! Florida has no offense but has somewhat of a defense! It's a great matchup

I think we should play Georgia there. I think away from SEC teams that are close, it would be cool to play Texas

Mizzou, Big XII teams are the cream of the SEC.***

Florida is the most logical/desirable choice

Jul 25, 2014, 7:59 AM [ in reply to Re: Poll: Who would you want to play in the Chick-fil-a kickoff? ]

In the last 15 years Texas A&M, LSU, Auburn, Alabama, Mississippi State, Missouri, Georgia, Kentucky, and Tennessee have been opponents at least once. A game against Ole Miss, Arkansas, or Vanderbilt in a "feature" game screams boring.

However we haven't played Florida in over 50 years, and they're the last regional power we haven't laced up against recently. (We've never played Arkansas but I see no need for that to change.)

My second choice would be Texas A&M. That would be a fun game and I think (hope) there'd be a lot less SEC homerism from their fans than from any other team's.

Too bad UF doesn't travel out of Florida for OOC games

Jul 25, 2014, 12:33 AM

I think it's been like 25+ years since the last time they've traveled out of the state for an OOC game.

With Miami and FSU they don't really have to. One of the two will almost always be a 10+ win team. They have plenty of options in-state.
