We continue our look at the top players by position that I have seen at Clemson (since 1974). Today is our look at linebackers. Here are the top ten linebackers I have seen at Clemson:

Picking the top 10 Clemson LBs is a tough task. I agree with the selections in the top 5 or six.

Thanks for another great list. It brings back the name's and memories for some of us who have been around watching the Tigers for half a century. Your list looks about right to me.

I was a big fan of Wayne Simmons but he never made an All-American team and was never named All-ACC. Hard to put him ahead of guys that made both and were named All-ACC twice. Seven guys on that list made an All-American team.

Lost Wayne way too young. :(

Randy Scott and Bubba Brown stuffed the Woody Hayes running machine in the Gator Bowl about 4 times inside the 10 yard line at the Gator Bowl back in 1978

Levon Kirkland turned Mayor Harris in to private harris in the Gator Bowl as well in 1989. Harris ran for his life all night.

All great Clemson Linebackers that could "bring the lumber" ;)

Analysts would call that list "an embarrassment of riches"

Ive seen so many good linebackers at Clemson in my 60+ years of attending games, I'm not sure I could ever rank them in a descending order.....I'd spend hours revising it and probably never come to a final list.

I still remember when Keith Adams used to park his SUV up on the sidewalk in front of the food hall on campus... and no one said a word. Lol.

Good list. I"d switch Stephone Anthony and LeRoy Hill.***
