Plumber.net halp

Sep 1, 2020, 9:59 AM

Kid's bathroom has the old school 3 knob set up for the bath. A knob for hot. A knob for cold. A knob in the middle you pull out for shower.

The cold knob will only turn the water on a little bit. Knob still turns all the way but it doesn't put out a lot of water.

What could be causing this and will a pallet help?

Hmmm, sounds like your only option is to fill the tub

Sep 1, 2020, 10:10 AM

with gasoline. Put your hand over your face when you put the match to it.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

pop the little plastic C in the center of the knob out and

Sep 1, 2020, 10:04 AM

tighten the screw.

Then in about a week you'll need to replace the washer because you over tightened it.

Pro Tip - Stand on a pallet while in the tub so you will scratch t up real good.

if I just have a knob fused to escutcheon problem or bigger problem with the valves. All I know is the whole thing turns and I don't know how to get an honest opinion on it.

Sep 1, 2020, 10:13 AM

Simple fix given your situation: redirect your washing machine drain line out of your flower and hang it in over the shower curtain rod. The $15 for additional tubing may seem like too much for your budget, but remember that you will make that up since the water from the washing machine will already have detergent in it, eliminating the need for soap.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

OK first of all, hoo TF are U?

Lastly of all...nice answer.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Cain't believe I'm doing this butt srs answer

Sep 1, 2020, 10:15 AM

KYS.

Na really though, most the time stuff like this can be fixt with a new cartridge. Cain't say that is necessarily the problem but it's a cheap part and easy to do if you can get it out and find the part. That's usually what we tell people here at Faucetworld.manufacturer.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Cartridge, that is the more appropriate term for the part.

Sep 1, 2020, 10:24 AM

Instead of valve.

2024 white level memberbadge-donor-20yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

The valve has gone bad and is not fully opening.

Sep 1, 2020, 10:18 AM

I replaced mine a few months ago, but mine is just one knob and a shower diverter. It was actually the diverter that broke but the ball valve screw broke when I was disassembling it. The biggest issue can be identifying the hardware so you can buy replacement parts. You want to avoid having to cut the wall open to replace everything. But provided you can identify a replacement part you should just be able to remove the knob (usually a screw in the center) and replace the valve. But if you screw up and break something you're going to have to go into the wall.

Serious reply.
Probably time to upgrade. Those things can glow over time. No good way that I know of to clean it out without tile damage. I suggest go to a one handle valve. They make a trim plate. to hide the area where the 3 cables were.

Dang phone. Corrections
They can clog (not glow)over time.
And it hides 3 valves (not cables).
