Feel bad for the kid but it is probably about time to give

Aug 5, 2011, 11:26 AM

up the football dream.

Anyone who played NCAA football in 2005 no longer has

Aug 5, 2011, 11:29 AM

any eligibility left to play in the NCAA. The five years to play four clock expired at the end of the 2009 season.

I'm not sure what Clark Atlanta is but this would be his seventh season. Doesn't sound right to me.

You are correct....

I'd love to hear the explanation showing where he still has eligibility left. Just not possible.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Please move on.

He of all people should know there are more important things than football.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Who are you telling to move on? Are you mad at him just

Aug 5, 2011, 11:41 AM

because he agreed to do an interview? Seems like a good guy and staying positive. What is wrong with that?

I don't get the comments...maybe people are just mad about being reminded that TB pulled his scholarship.

No, people care.

He came to Clemson in a very tough situation. When he left he had a free degree, an offer for a free graduate degree, and a trust fund set up for his brother.

What is he doing 5 years later? Still playing football.

What is he doing 5 years later? Still playing football. It is his choice though and he has the right to do what he wants in his life, just like I have the right to voice my opinion about it.

He didn't pull his scholarship

Aug 5, 2011, 11:57 AM [ in reply to Who are you telling to move on? Are you mad at him just ]

He offered him the option of staying on scholarship as a grad asst. He had already graduated, but hadn;t been seeing the field at all. They gave him the opportunity to stay on scholly, but he decided to go elsewhere. Thats fine, he was a great kid, but to say his scholly was pulled is flat out wrong.

The article leads me to believe....

Aug 5, 2011, 1:10 PM [ in reply to Please move on. ]

that he is struggling to make ends meet. I know its a tough situation raising his little brother and helping his pregnant sister, but...he does have two college degrees (assuming he finished grad school) and lives in a major city with plenty of opportunities. He also probably has a great chance to get a job given his association with college athletics and his references.

Just my commentary. I did not listen to the interview, so maybe it was addressed in that.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Exactly

Aug 5, 2011, 2:13 PM

and its a shame to see a guy struggling when he has been given so many opportunities, but is hung up on one dream.
