should he win:
I hope he is a unifying placeholder in the country. The government will be gridlocked for any major legislation. However, he needs to be the unifying voice of the country to bring everybody back to common sense and TONE DOWN THE RHETORIC.
Let the country calm down.
Then let's run some decent candidates in 2024.

1) For the same stuff Trump is going to try to pardon himself for on the way out.
2) See the pardon language used for Nixon.

I said bad things about and to good people early in this process. Checked out of social media, started calling/actually talking to people, and restored my faith in humanity and our country. We have spent so much time barking at avatars that we are losing touch.

Coach,
I agree. If Biden and his Cabinet can just undo all of the damage that the Trump administration did and get back to normal - to running the executive departments the way they were intended to be run - that would be a major accomplishment.
And I feel sure that he will tone down the rhetoric - and maybe convince the Repubs to return to the normal level of contention between the two parties - that would be a step back towards moderation, too.

Get back to normal? Normal was why Trump was elected. I think there is a big push back to normal.

because of the lying to get elected. Plenty of things to criticize Trump over without lying.
Yeah, I know about all politicians lie.
I would gamble that at least 65M of the 69M that voted against him do not trust him. You cannot unify that kind of opposition without genuine humility and compromise.
Maybe he can do it. 47 years in Washington says no.
