Piece of advice for those headed over...

Aug 26, 2014, 9:04 AM

...and revolves around walking around with an 'adult beverage.' Like most venues, having your drink in a solo cup is fine, but if you are on the SIDEWALK around the campus, well, this is county property and you CAN get a ticket for an open container. Literally, if you take one step of off the sidewalk and onto the grass, you will be fine and not ticketed. Walkways inside the campus are obviously fine. I don't see this too much through out the season but inevitably it will happen during the opening weekend. Additionally, WATCH YOUR SPEED on Jefferson Highway...swear Jefferson was built on speeding tickets to Athens.

Anyway, good luck Saturday Night and Go Dawgs!!

I have a question...

do you guys get ticketed for raising your leg to pee when on the sidewalk... or do you have to step on the grass?

Peeing on you, no ticket...otherwise it's just handled on a 'case-by-case' basis!

Go Dawgs!!

The police love handing out open container tickets in Athens. Be careful.
