Phew, I'm back. Google Fiber installers that installed the

fiber drop yesterday cut my AT&T Fiber drop... #########.

So I spent 24 hours without home Internet, and it SUCKED. It's amazing how ingrained Internet is in a modern home, especially whenever every single IoT device no longer works. All automated lights quit working, a few I don't have a switch or anything to control (technically have a remote control that I threw away a long time ago).

Amazon FireTV OS won't display the home screen without Internet, fortunately can go into settings -> applications -> Plex to launch the app. Plex also uses the Internet too much for local content, but it eventually would load and play, just took forever because I assume it's first attempting to connect to the Internet, then realizing it can't and taking the intranet. Upstairs' NVIDIA Shield Pro didn't have any of those issues.

It was very humorous multiple times last night watching wifey say "Alexa, turn on the fan" and then it triggers the red circle ping and Alexa saying she's having trouble connecting to the Internet.

Anyway, AT&T fixed the drop, and Google Fiber will finish the install this afternoon. So I'll have two gigabit connections for ultimate pr0n viewing, until I cancel AT&T.

Your not bundled with AT&T?

Jul 15, 2020, 12:20 PM [ in reply to AT&T is $100/mo, GF is $70/mo*** ]

I get to place both hands flat on the counter each month when my DirecTV bill comes, but because I added in the AT&T fiber service, I'm at $49 per month (service and the modem "rental fee" combined). Probably because I'm a "new" customer. We'll see where that goes in a year.

When we drink, we get drunk.
When we get drunk, we fall asleep.
When we fall asleep, we commit no sin.
When we commit no sin, we go to heaven.
So, let's all get drunk, and go to heaven!

I don't have any TV or telephone services.

Hopefully your bundle price stays low and isn't some introductory price, $50/mo is great!

Your personal life, divide it by 12, and subtract it from the AT&T monthly price.

Plex still works. And all phones.

So not that bad.

Not into Alexa or nest or all the other iot stuff. OK Google turn off TV is great for the kids though.
