Pennsylvania federal court smacks Trump in the face

The opinion (link below) opens with this: In this action, the Trump Campaign and the Individual Plaintiffs (collectively, the “Plaintiffs”) seek to discard millions of votes legally cast by Pennsylvanians from all corners – from Greene County to Pike County, and everywhere in between. In other words, Plaintiffs ask this Court to disenfranchise almost seven million voters. This Court has been unable to find any case in which a plaintiff has sought such a drastic remedy in the contest of an election, in terms of the sheer volume of votes asked to be invalidated. One might expect that when seeking such a startling outcome, a plaintiff would come formidably armed with compelling legal arguments and factual proof of rampant corruption, such that this Court would have no option but to regrettably grant the proposed injunctive relief despite the impact it would have on such a large group of citizens.
That has not happened. Instead, this Court has been presented with strained legal arguments without merit and speculative accusations, unpled in the operative complaint and unsupported by evidence. In the United States of America, this cannot justify the disenfranchisement of a single voter, let alone all the voters of its sixth most populated state. Our people, laws, and institutions demand more. At bottom, Plaintiffs have failed to meet their burden to state a claim upon which relief may be granted. Therefore, I grant Defendants’ motions and dismiss Plaintiffs’ action with prejudice.

So a liberal judge threw out an injunction. Bombshell much?
I love when impartial judges say things like: “such that this Court would have no option but to regrettably grant the proposed injunctive relief”...... glad they didn’t have a bunch of evidence so they didn’t have to “regrettably” do something.

If you don't like that liberal judge, you can check out this one by a judge appointed by Trump.
Link below, but the opinion goes like this: The plaintiff (a Trump campaign staffer) lacks standing to bring the case, so the request for an injunction has to be denied. But even if the plaintiff had standing, he delayed for 8 months before filing, so it has to be denied. But even if he hadn't delayed, he failed to show any likelihood of success, so it has to be denied. But even if he hadn't failed to show a likelihood of success, he can't show irreparable harm, so it has to be denied. But even if he had been able to do that, the balance of the equities and the public interest requires that it be denied. So, denied.

Brann was a Obama appointee. However from his Wikipedia (source intentional):
“He also spent years as a Republican Party official in Pennsylvania and was active in the Federalist Society and National Rifle Association.[2]”

The more I watch this fiasco the more convinced I am that this isn't a legal strategy so much as just public spectacle for the benefit of OAN, Newsmax, and the Parler-verse. Give them some grist for a narrative that there is some sort of titanic struggle for the future of the nation at stake (which there actually sort of is, though not in a legal sense), and use that narrative to put pressure on public officials to bend and not certify (like Trump just tried with the Michigan crew), or, failing that, keep things stirred up long enough that he makes it look like he fought valiantly to the end. (Even though he hid out in the White House sulking and golfed a lot, occasionally firing somebody he perceives as disloyal.)
They really don't seem to be worried about actual court results. It doesn't even look like they're really trying to win in court so much as just keep it alive, mostly because they have no case and they know it. They're just doing what Team Trump does: lie a lot, shamelessly and with a straight face, and then rely on conservative media to sell those lies to the base...and keep pushing that lie until maybe they can convince enough folks it's actually true.

Yeah I had a feeling this was going south the other day in the oral arguments when Brann asked Giuliani and crew a ton of tough questions at the end. I think the requests for them to submit the brief and request for injunction was kinda like “just to make sure you’re really saying what I think you’re arguing here in court.”
The even worse part is he suggests at least a couple of times they might have had an argument if they had come at it from a different angle. I know he said that about the standing part.
That was a pretty weak legal effort overall. When you start slicing and dicing your original complaint while simultaneously shedding legal representation, that’s never a good look for the judge.
I said before their request to not certify the vote was pretty far out there anyway. Like the judge said, you fix the bad ones. You don’t throw out the rest in the process.
I’d say between this case, the PA Supreme Court case and the GA recount, Trump is done. He should concede Monday IMO barring anything new and major coming forward. Without those two states, there is no path.

What a clown show. A fitting end to these last 4 years. I hope they livestream Trump being dragged out of the White House.

Rudy is calling it a victory claiming it will help him get to the supreme court faster. He claims that's the goal.

Yes. APM cleared it up. Trump identifies as president after Jan 20th. He identifies as the victor.
