He was never the "star" like Guttenberg in any of those films, but each movie was a comedic ensemble like Police Academy.

If you're asking in terms of what has made him a star (like Police Academy did for Guttenberg) then Ant-Man has to be the closest (although his many mac and me clips on Conan and appearance(s) on Tim and Eric made him an internet favorite)

It was an almost interesting story, but Rudd was kinda painful to watch. He needs to stick with the charming roles that make you chuckle.
