Paul Finebaum Says Clemson Had Best Team Last Year

Anybody see that? He said he left the National Championship Game thinking Clemson was better because of DW4, but Bama had won with the best call by a coach ever in the history of college football. Ha. Agree with some, but not all.

From a neutral perspective (Ohio State fan), I thought Clemson was the better team (certainly offensively) but that onside kick really threw a wrench in the result. Was hoping you'd beat those guys

well but had to earn every yard we got. Bama was smarter and hit some easy ones against us because we didn't play so smart.

... unfortunately special teams count as well, and that's where Bama was considerably better on that particular night.
If we don't have to cover kicks, Clemson wins last year.

Overall , I think talent wise we were the best team ...but ,...injuries , Mac Alexander going down , and Shaq playing hurt ,....went against us . However , we still should have won ...but we had weaknesses and they exploited them , great coaching by Saban and that INT and kickoff TD ...did us in . Also, we never covered # 88 all night ,....DJ Howard killed us.

Don't fool yourself. Any statement Finebaum makes about team other than Bama, complementary or not, the is merely a backhand way of slobbering up Bama.

That puntrooskie wasn't in the National Championship game and our Coach had already won a National Championship for Clemson in 1981 . Also, the next year we went down to Tallahassee and stomped FSU.
