Paddywagons in Tampa

Jan 8, 2017, 7:49 PM

Had friends in this pub in Tampa tell me the owner won't accept $2 bills. Owner Says they are a hassle. Recommend Tigers find another pub to party in.

Someone can check but $2 are legal tender. If you offer legal tender and it is refused I believe you can legally walk out without paying. Just saying.

I had it happen to me last year at South Beach after Orange Bowl.

You would think they have to accept US cash, but apparently, businesses can refuse to accept denominations of currency.

I've seen many places that have signs saying they do not accept $50 bills. Maybe they have to have a sign saying they do not accept $2 bills. If not, you may be on sound footing to call the cops on them. I wouldn't just walk out like someone else suggested.

I would leave the money on the table.***

Would you be hassled if someone tried to buy your car in pennies?
