PRAYER REQUEST

Just found out my friends dad died in a car wreck. Hes 19 and he has a 13 year old brother. Mans name was Joey Dorton. Please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers!

Tell this story.

My dad died when I was 19. That was 41 years ago.

While I was at Clemson in '88 one of my fellow students had just lost his father. He missed one semester. He and I studied often in one of the construction science labs.

Late one evening he and I were alone there and I spoke to him about the recent loss of his father. I shared my story of a broken relationship with dad and took most of the blame because I was my rebellious.

We agreed that our biggest regret was that we hadn't said we were sorry for doing the things our father disapproved of. Being that I was 38 years old at the time and had five children I told him how I would feel if I died and I got the chance to speak to my sons one last time.

I just said, 'I know, I love you too, son.' We wept.
