Question for those of you are parents whose kids will be online for classes.

Aug 10, 2020, 12:29 PM

Will you allow your kids just to wear their pajamas all day or will they have to get dressed and ready for school?

my 11 yo got up on her own today, had breakfast, and wen I went to check if she was ready for her first class, her bed was made.

I don't expect that to last

My heart says yes

Aug 10, 2020, 12:55 PM

my brain says no.

I really want to see what this group we have can do this year. Unfortunately it's not looking that way.

Major football conferences are cancelling seasons. Big 10 today, PAC and Big 12 will be soon. ACC and SEC will be the last domino.

Many administrators are expecting us to come back on campus for a couple of weeks, long enough to issue textbooks and computers, then have to shut everything back down because the numbers are going to shoot up. I will be surprised if we are face to face in October.

Then from a litigation stand point, you can't justify having a contact sport still going when you can't even teach face to face.

Somebody will be dialing all 9's.

So while I hope I'm wrong, I really don't see football or school in the fall.

Get up, get dressed, treat no differently than a normal day

My 9-year-old has been in the get up at 7:00 for day camp routine the whole summer, so for him it won't be a problem come Wednesday.

My 13-year-old, on the other hand, hasn't been up before 10:00 but once this summer. She's in for a world of hurt.

When we drink, we get drunk.
When we get drunk, we fall asleep.
When we fall asleep, we commit no sin.
When we commit no sin, we go to heaven.
So, let's all get drunk, and go to heaven!
