You have to think the goodwill generated from the 2015 football season helped to drive up some donations.

Outstanding!! Major congrats in order!!

IMO---Clemson needs to use that money as collateral for a Veterinary Sciences Dept, a Law School, and sensible expansion of liberal arts college to include some Ph.d offerings.

This will prove a valuable investment for future capital campaigns.

AMEN. I have never understood why there is no veterinarian school in SC. The logical choice would be at Clemson. Currently those people are getting undergrad degrees at Clemson then must go to GA for vet school. That's just unacceptable.

Legal market is already over saturated

Maybe 10 years ago we could've opened up "Clemson Law" (even though it runs counter to the university's original mission) but certainly not today. Enrollment is way down across the country and dozens of law schools probably should be closing their doors.

Yes! There needs to be a vet school at Clemson.

About 5 years ago, had to take my dog to the UT vet school. While scary because my dog was sick to the point my vet referred us there, was an awesome experience. The resources, the options, and the specialists were such a surprise. But the students were my favorite part. I had to drop my dog off there every Monday through Friday for 4 weeks. She got really scared and they ended up assigning her the same student for 3 of the weeks. While my dog was not feeling well, that student could always get a tail wag out of her.

Here is the thing.....sitting in the waiting room, there were people there from far and wide. People driving hours for the care offered there.

Clemson is the place that needs a vet school. Let's give the state of SC and even the surrounding states a place where their animals can get some of the best care. Let's keep students that want to be vets instate for school!

and they still raised tuition...

A billion dollars...wow.

Jul 18, 2016, 4:25 PM

Maybe they won't need to charge students for football games after all.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

All of these sound like good ideas. Here's mine

I agree that there should be a law, or veterinarian school. What would really bring revenue, giving, and overall support for Clemson would be satellite schools. It would increase the Clemson footprint (not to mention overall number of students and alumni) and allow people from different areas of the state to attend more easily.
