Clemson and the "no social media" rule

Aug 6, 2018, 1:41 PM

It's funny how lately I've seen a lot of people hating on the Clemson staff not wanting our players on social media during the season. I saw players tweeting themselves about how much stress Clemson takes off of it's players by not allowing them to have social media during the season. This tweet came from UF QB Luke Del Rio so for people to criticize Dabo saying he shouldn't make his team do that amaze me when others that were in or are in the same environment of CFB state that it's a huge stress relief and takes away distraction.

Somehow, this keeps coming up at this time every year

people are misinformed and don't understand that this is done by the players by choice, and more programs are starting to do the same

Exactly, I promise every one of our players would choose to be able to say they won a national championship for the rest of their life than add 5 more months of posting pictures for strangers on instagram and falling short of a national championship.

Just wait till the whiners find out Clemson has voluntary

To my knowledge, Clemson's staff doesn't have or enforce a policy on this matter.

It's player driven

Imagine how much better the world would be if we all stayed off.

It’s not a rule...it’s a decision adopted by the players

Maybe the Tigers could make Jonathan Jones a dishonorary member of the team, then he can stop tweeting too.

If Clemson had losing Records every year people would not say a word about social media not being used by the players. Hate comes from people when things are going good . Pointing out social media only shows that they have to dig deep on Clemson. Pretty weak attempt.

I'm quite sure Dabo, his staff and the players aren't losing any sleep over those haters.

What's weird is that SCar and other schools are doing

Aug 6, 2018, 3:26 PM

the same thing. We were certainly one of the first, but plenty have joined in. So not sure why they're picking on Clemson.
