I think that is part of their strategy, to put in DJ's head that everybody already knows where he is going in an attempt to get him to flip!!!

Wouldn't that require them to think he's going to Clemson in order to think that strategy is needed, which would mean they're being honest in their predictions?

Nah, that's a little too cute IMHO. I think he goes where he feels more comfortable in the end despite what the recruiting "expects" say or do.

which fits into Dabo's anti flip strategy, as their flip strategy makes them look desperate, which makes us not desperate. The old reverse psychology, although it's really double reverse psycology strategy, not to mention Dabo still has the Double Dog Reverse Psychology card in his back pocket.
TL/DNR I think we are reading too much into everything

I'm sure there are Oregon insiders and CU insiders who think they have some special info that makes their school the one he'll ultimately choose. But an 18/19 year old can end up doing anything. Like Trevor, DJ seems to be very level-headed, which means very good parenting. Their talks with their son will probably play a huge role in the end.
Wonder about that meeting with idols Masoli & Mariota - urging him to play for the Ducks. That's pretty powerful. Powerful as the recruiting powers of Dabo & crew? We'll have to see.
The "friends" he played with over the years, being at Oregon too, is powerful. And the distances, both pretty large - if he can cut that by some 1,000-1,500 miles plus 3 time Zones - might be a big consideration. Plus he's got to look at both baseball programs.
Just a guess, but I think between us & Oregon, it's likely about 50-50.
Would love to have him, & I think he'd broaden himself by experiencing something other than the west coast.
No way he'd regret coming here - but we'll have to wait a little longer.

There are a lot of folks that are like me, in that they're not as computer smart as a lot of the younger folks that grew up with computers in hand!!! I use Norton virus protection that is an up grade from the basic, and it works very well for me. I have had Norton for 6 years now, and I Think, but not 100% sure, my wife pays like $30 something bucks a year for our laptops phones and TV's, and I have never gotten my laptop in trouble again with all the BS that I would get from online internet like I did when I had that crap that usually comes when purchasing a new lap top. I think it was that McAfee BShit, I'll never ever use them ever again. I'm not knowledgeable with computers at all, and With the Norton, I ask one of their techs to set me up to be safe from the BS without risk. I search for what ever comes to mind, and I can come here with comfort that I'm not going to pick anything from T-Net either as I did when I was using McAfee!!! Each to their own though, but my laptop runs very well as long as I do the disk clean up once a week, and the Norton performance check about twice a week!!!

Say what you want but this is DAbo's plan for all recruits
Apr 22, 2019, 12:15 PM

to go visit other places and make sure you're ready to commit. Don't commit early and then wonder what its like to visit other schools. Get it out of your systems b/c you're doing yourself a disservice by not taking your visits. And if someone at Georgia hands you a roll of hundred dollar bills and you want that kinda situation then you probably don't belong at Clemson. For example see Nkemdiche. we all were dumbstruck that he didn't go to Clemson but later we find out 100,000 reasons why.... Dabo doesn't need to deal with that....so go take your visits and let us know your decision when you're ready.
That tells me that Dabo sure enough has the best product in college football at the present moment.

That is what Dabo encourages, and he won't accept a commitment if they haven't taken any of they're visits bc he wants all visits shut down once he has committed to them by holding them a spot. That is why I don't understand the people that think how Dabo does it is wrong. Dabo is not a Spurrier or any other coach that will keep a recruit hanging on up to signing day and withdraw an offer right before signing day. That hasn't and it never will happen at Clemson bc committing is a two way deal. Once a player commits to a Clemson offer, he will be guaranteed a scholarship at Clemson on signing day. If a player De-commits, that leaves coaches in a bad way and scrambling to try and fill that spot, and most of the time they can't bc all the better players are solid with their commitment at what ever school they have been committed to.
IMO, this is something that should be taken care of by the NCAA... For a coach and the player, that neither can withdraw within a 45 day period prior to signing day without severe penalty to a coach that withdraws his offer, or for the player that is de-committing. For a coach that withdraws his offer to a kid within that 45 day period, he should be fine and lose a scholarship for the next season, and the player that de-commits within the 45 day period, he should have to sit out for 18 months at the school he signs with. That would stop all the BS of withdrawing offers and leaving the kid without an offer, and all the de-committing after it's to late for a coach to find a replacement just as good as the one that just de-committed!!!
