No Christian Wilkins? That's hard to believe. Breckner came in with a lot of hype during last year's NSD...and that's the last time I've even heard/seen his name until this. Sheesh!

His stats were better than Wilkins

Dec 10, 2015, 4:25 PM

he probably played a lot more snaps though. Remember, Wilkins didn't start for us.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

yeah but they don't

Dec 10, 2015, 4:45 PM

Play for us ; )

I get the stats piece...but it's hard to overlook the impact he made. His tackles/play is up there for a DT...and as often as not, he was in at 'crunch time' in the big stage games. Oh, well...

He's been awesome no question

The fact that we have such a talented DL sort of overshadows that though. Some of the other guys have no supporting cast so it makes them look a lot better.

Only Brent & Dabo kept Wilkins off Frosh AA team

Dec 10, 2015, 7:55 PM [ in reply to Re: FB Update: Two Tigers named to USA Today Freshman All-America team ]

By rotating him with less talented upperclassmen ... Ford rotated Perry but Perry played more snaps as freshman than quality sr nose guard.

Kareem Orr?

Dec 10, 2015, 4:11 PM

Wasn't that the guy we were late getting on last yr & then didn't take him? (From Tennessee I think)

you are correct about getting on him late and then not taking him... i know we thought more of Mark Fields but can't remember if that is why we slow played Orr... but i understand recruiting the in-state talent, but i would have taken Orr over another DB we did take last year but he was already a long-time commitment by the time we got to Orr...

No Deon Cain is joke***

Not really

Dec 10, 2015, 4:36 PM

James had 1220 yards and 6 TD
Ridley had 893 yards and 5 TD
Sutton had 862 yards and 9 TD

Cain had 582 yards and 5 TD

Cain is awesome but with the amount of talent on our roster and the fact that he didn't really hit his stride until mid season he didn't really have a chance at one of the 3 rookie receiver spots. The 3 guys who got it were all the top receiver on their respective teams where Cain isn't even a starter most weeks.

Cain is probably a better player than all 3 of the winners, but you're not going to see many freshman All-Americans who aren't starters.

How about Christian Wilkens?**********

Happy for Hyatt and Huegal! Hopefully we can get more specialty team walkons like Huegal in the immediate future!??
