One final thought on the Memorial . . .

Jul 21, 2020, 12:26 AM

While we weren’t real happy with the T-38th Place Lucas earned . . . It did put $43,245 into his Checking Account . . .
Just saying . . .

(Waiting on Marshall to tell me who’s in the field this week!)

Have a great week everyone!!!

It was quite an interesting tournament

Finau over the last 27....yikes. Happens to the best. I got a great chuckle over good ole Lefty. When they showed the replays during the delay and he was putting from 70 and 40 feet off the greens. I’m well known among my group of friends for eschewing my wedges for my putter, especially on low cut approaches and fast long greens.

Skeeta ..... not sure if you have ever played in Scotland or Ireland, but the putter is a very valuable tool anywhere near a green ...... and sometimes not so near. I'm convinced that you can play most courses over there with a 3 wood (metal), a 7 iron, and a putter.

I have not had that pleasure . . .

Green side I rarely “chip”, rather opting to use a 7 iron with a putting stroke . . . unless there is water or a trap to carry.

Remember, I am a hacker . . . that loves being outdoors with friends and a cold beer!

Skeeta, in Scotland/Ireland I use a 7 iron from about 170 yards on in trying to land the ball short of the green and just running the ball onto it. From shorter distances you are trying to do the same thing, just softer shots.
