$CU seems very happy with its 2017 recruiting class....

Jan 31, 2017, 4:13 PM

and that makes me smile.

At the rate they're going, they may actually be able to close the talent gap with Clemson...in another 10 or 15 years.

They are trying to close the talent gap between 2017 coots and Tigers during the end on Tommy West days.

With this recruiting class they may be able to score 2 touchdowns on us next year!

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

It's honestly unbelievable they've been able to recruit

Jan 31, 2017, 4:18 PM

as well given that they are one of the worst teams in the worst division with one of the worst coaches located in the worst city of all of college football.

It's remarkable.

They have done okay. No one should expect them to be

Jan 31, 2017, 4:27 PM

on par with Clemson at this point. Spurrier left a train wreck down there and I am forever grateful. But they were more competitive this past season. Their recruiting should continue to improve but it may not be in leaps and bounds.

Yes, they were more competitive this past season...

Jan 31, 2017, 4:32 PM

not because they improved significantly but because they played such a ridiculously weak schedule.

Stars don't matter. Look at Hunter Renfrow and Grady Jarrett.

I agree, bottomline is...this coaching staff gets the max potential out of each player and some. Yeah its nice to get those highly touted recruits that already have that "IT" factor and God given talent to get it done from day 1. But, when you have 5* coaches to get the best out of each and every player.....that's what makes the real difference.

Tell that to what's his name and all those other guys you don't remember. Stars don't matter for the exception but I wouldn't go making a rule out of it.

Well, you can't blame them. The class is certainly better than I thought they would do. However, I think they have benefited from the fact that Clemson has a very small class. On the real down side, I don't see that class moving them up in their division or against Clemson.

Their class might keep the program in sight of six to at most eight wins (bowl) included depending upon their schedule, injuries and transfers. We need to recognize how player development has clearly impacted our program over the past half a decade. Usuck hasn't done nearly as well, but that will have to change if they aspire to improve markedly in the next few years.

I personally do not see them winning their division for at least half a decade unless they get back to back quality classes that develop into something more competitive. Muscrap may believe he has the skill and talent to do this, but unless he can adapt I do no see success under his leadership beyond a certain level. The question will be one USC fans will discuss throughout his tenure.

Go Tigers!

You mean if Clemson stops recruiting right now they may catch up in 10 - 15 years?
