On-line classes

Jul 22, 2020, 9:07 PM

I applaud President Clements and his administration for making the decision to have on-line classes for the 1st month of the Fall semester. Since July 1, positive cases of COVID-19 have almost exactly doubled the total cases from the beginning. You read that correctly, double in 22 days what it took over 4 months to get to. It is a blessing that people are not dying at the early rate in the country but no person in his or her right mind should risk getting sick if they have a choice to possibly avoid it.

Usuc is starting with students in class. The NCAA says no
football unless students on campus. Can they enforce that?
Evidently Clements knows something the chickens don't.

Seriously damaging the future of college education as we know it, but maybe that is a good thing. When/if students, and more importantly parents, figure out they can get a real education online, they are unlikely to pay the exorbitant rates for brick and mortar. Most colleges will be in serious trouble, and all will be forced to change their models.

The first domino is delaying the sports seasons, and possibly cancelling them all together. Who knows what ramifications that will have? I'm afraid that normal will look very different in the future.
