Hate to say it, but seen like this is a good way to protect and keep the high recruiting ranking high within the sec. Allowing more sec teams to get within the top ten class. I hope this new playoff system doesn't be manipulated in this manner. Come on fellows, LET BE REAL. THESE KIDS DESERVES BETTER TOO. DON'T PROTECT YOUR FUTURE AND WATER DOWN THEIR AT WHAT COST.

I saw the hate on Bama, the Lakers, the Patriots, the
Giants, the Saints...etc....because people will do it
when teams win championships. Championships with an S
mind you.
Clemson has won their share, but this obvious in your
face hate on the recruiting rankings from certain media,
whose jobs are supposed to report the facts is so low
class when they don't want to do it.
These multi-billion dollar media orginizations that do
such a thing should just be a tabloid broadcasting
company.
If the guy is 5stars across the board, or ranked No.1
across the board it is what it is. How is a recruit
going to have high marks all the way, but as soon as
he commits or signs with C-L-E-M-S-O-----N,.....
"Oh he's a 3star, hes ranked 6th now." WTH??????

makes sense for their business model. They want tons of clicks by people wanting to see where the #1 guy in each position might be thinking of going all throughout the recruiting period. Leaving a committed guy in that spot for the next year doesn't suit the business model or fit their agenda.

I think you can put stock into the consensus 5-Star guys as being good recruits but the difference between a 4-star guy on one site and a 3-star guy on another is negligible.
The rankings within the positions are even more arbitrary.
Hyatt is a game-changer, no matter what Scout or anyone else says!

They do this every year! When a player signs with an SEC team like Bama, LSU, or FL, they gain a star and when they sign with someone outside of the SEC, they either quit talking about them or lose ranking. Happens every #### year. People need to start realizing that the SEC is the money maker of college football.

Yes true. Deshaun Watson was a 5* up until his commitment, and now he's a 4* at NSD. If a player focus is on his ranking, he might be a little hesitance about moving to the ACC. Easy means to manipulate a recruit.

West coast and big ten recruits. Front page of their website today was the espn no. 3 CB who pulled out a gatorade bottle and who knows what else out of a box... huge troll attempt before picking USC (real one), followed by him throwing up a bunch of gang signs and putting on some hand me down USC MNC rings.
Pretty legit when penn st. has 4 ???? players to our 8 ???? players, but are ranked about ten spots ahead with less overall commits.

My view is that these types of businesses need to hear from the public lest they believe they are always correct in their publications.
My comments to them were in the form of questions: why was Mitch a #1 OT on February 5th, then #2 on the 6th, the day after he committed to Clemson? Secondly, who on their staff made the determinations? What were their qualifications? What was their methodology?
I'll be interested in their reply.
