On CFP poll eve, here's something fun to consider...

Bama beats LSU handily this week

Georgia wins out and beats Bama for the $EC championship

You now have three $EC teams with one loss

Ohio State wins out and wins the BIG championship

Oklahoma wins out and wins the Big XII championship

Utah or Oregon wins out and wins the Pac 12 championship

Clemson wins out and wins the ACC championship

Bama is 12 - 1

LSU is 11 - 1

Georgia is 12 - 1

Ohio State is 13 - 0

Oklahoma is 12 - 1

Utah/Oregon is 12 - 1

Clemson is 13 - 0

In this scenario, Georgia, Ohio State and Clemson are absolutely in.

So...who gets left out?

IMO...Utah/Oregon should be the 4th team in.

It will a battle to the end to see who can impress the committee more between Oklahoma and Utah.

At this point if you put Oregon at the 12-1 PAC12 team for your scenario then I think they are in for sure.

Oregon is going to be a much more attractive team than Utah in comparison to Oklahoma or the SEC leftovers.

If either Utah or Oregon win out and finish 12-1, I agree. Give them a shot no matter what else happens.

If LSU & Bama both get left out, there will be a HUGE number of Gulf Coast inhabitants and ESECPN talking heads whose mantra will be "So we actually watched the National Championship on Nov 9th then!!!"

both UTAH's and Oklahoma's loss would be far worse than LSU's/Alabama's but both would have a conference championship....my gut tells me Oklahoma would get the nod
