Was there a game in the early 90's that we wore purple jerseys to start the game then changed to Orange at half time on account getting out tails whipped?

in 1991, we whooped 'em good in new purple jerseys, Hatfield's purple jerseys. Then the next year in a bowl game, we got really whooped wearing the Hatfield purple again, against a team that probably didn't even know what our colors were supposed to be. An L to Cal, 13-37.

I actually think that is against the rules. You can change after warm-ups but not at halftime.

I've been following Clemson closely since 1977 and was there from 1980-90 (in various capacities). During that time, we never changed jersey colors after the game started. We did wear purple (once that I remember) in the early 90's. . .and won. Those jerseys were ugly, though--and I do like today's purple.
