But our Tigers are the youngest of these - based on rosters from ESPN
Clemson FR 53, SO 33, JR 18, SR 14, Total 118, 86 are FR/SO
Va Tech FR 54, SO 26, JR 25, SR 12, Total 117, 80 are FR/SO
Ohio St FR 47, SO 29, JR 24, SR 20, Total 120, 76 are FR/SO

I believe this description is referring to starters

and 2 deep as being young, not the entirety of the team.

Can you redo the numbers with the number of starters that are underclassmen (who are not going to the NFL like Williams, Watson, etc.)?

You are definitely manager material (if you're not already) being able to volun-task people like that.

:-D

Good point but any team that is worth a dang is young. The good team are going to lose players to the pros after their junior year. It is rare to see a top notch team these days loaded with seniors.

Looking at Clemson

Dec 6, 2016, 3:45 PM [ in reply to I believe this description is referring to starters ]

According to the depth chart before the ACC Championship Game Clemson has:

2 Graduate Students
7 Seniors
11 Juniors
25 Sophomores
12 Freshmen

Some positions have more than 2 listed (i.e. running back and tight end).

Don't have the time to do it for the other teams

Here's a couple of other links:

Taken before the season:
https://www.philsteele.com/Blogs/2016/JUNE16/DBJune28.html

Of interest here is that Phil Steele had Clemson (101), Alabama (116), and Ohio State (128) as the least experienced teams in their conferences. We've heard all season that Ohio State is the youngest team in the country and this may be the source they used. Washington (42) is the 4th most experienced in the PAC 12. Also of note, is that PITT is the most experienced team in the ACC and the 7th most experienced team in the country.
