Tigers beat UNCheat 10-8 and went on to win the national championship.
I certainly don't recall a collective meltdown by our fans after we won that game. Sometimes, it pays to have a little perspective and right now, it appears some around here need some.
There is no such thing as an "ugly" win. I also know the coaching staff seems to be able to right the ship after these "off" games we seem to sleepwalk through once per season. The staff deserves the benefit of the doubt.
But I will close with this prediction: I'm willing to bet FSU will come in here and play C2 just like the Tar Holes. We will have to stay committed to the run game and attack the MOF more. Screens, tunnel screens and quick outs won't cut it until they bring one safety in. Oline will have to play better---very poor effort collectively on pass pro and run block.
Can we turn it around? Recent history indicates we will do so emphatically.

Wideouts go deep, play action, hit the TE slant across the middle.
60% of the time it works every time.

but that was a top 10 UNC team and the game of the year for us other than the Orange Bowl. Not really the same situation.

Perhaps but my point is really this: a Mack Brown -coached team is a dangerous team and there is no shame in beating him on the road by a point. So ranked or unranked, if Mack Brown is coaching, you need to bring your A game.

That team beat an unranked Tulane team 13-5 on the road. They also beat #4 UGA. Point is, one game doesn't define the team, and they can improve. We've seen this scenario about every year lately. Thankfully we won. Offense obviously has some issues.

2016 Nc St at home. Completely and totally outplayed. They miss a chip shot FG for the win. We win in OT, win Natty later on.

True, but UNC was a top team that year.

And there are plenty of "VERY UGLY" wins, just no "bad" wins, because an ugly win is better than ANY kind of loss.
But nobody's going to care one iota about this game if we hoist another trophy this year.
The reason some fans are making such a big deal about it is that they're worried our sub-par performance indicates that we won't be hoisting a trophy this year, and it makes them curl up in fetal position sucking their thumbs.
