Oh what a time it is...

Oct 12, 2015, 9:14 AM

I wasn't around for the 'heyday' of the late 70's/early 80's and wasn't old enough to remember the early 90's but I have been around for the last 20 years and...

I remember a time when a game like this Saturday would be a big time concern for our tigers.

I remember a time when 8-4 was a target for our tigers.

I remember a time when we could count on a dud-like game at least once or twice a year.

I remember a few times when we just wanted to make sure we beat South Carolina so we could salvage our season.

But NOW...

Oh what a time it is to be a Tiger fan.

We have a coach who gets the most out of our players on and off the field.

We have a team where 10 wins is not a goal, its an expectation.

We have a team that has won 13 straight games in the REAL death valley

We have a team that is 33 for their last 33 against non-ranked opponents

We have a team that routinely knocks off top-10 opponents (7-3 in their last 10)

We have a team who has earned national recognition every time a college football show comes on.

We have a program where every time you turn on an NFL game, there are former Tigers all over the field.

Some wont like this, but we have arrived! Now keep it up, Tigers!

And the sad thing is, we have people who fuss because our Defense gave up a few late game touchdowns in a route of GT last week. We have some who complain because we were "too conservative" to close the game against #6 Notre Dame, we have others who complained that we weren't impressive enough on the road on a Thursday night against Louisville.

Tiger fans, I encourage you to quit finding faults in our team and ENJOY THE MOMENT, because you never know when it may be gone.

Go Tigers!

BC is the next man up!

I like what you've posted, I agree completely. It has been 33 years since Jan 1981 but I can still feel that excitement and pride in what my Tigers accomplished!

NC? Would our expectations be so high that we become miserable ###### like Bama fans? I hope not. You're right. Enjoy it, because I remember what the 90's felt like.

I remember Hatfield, West and the mediocrity of Bowden. Good Days have arrived. I'm as excited for this year as any. HOPE SPRINGS ETERNAL!

Go Tigers!
