Which all-time CU BB player do you want to take last shot?

Mar 19, 2015, 9:31 PM

With all the negative talk about Clemson basketball, I got to wondering. If the game was on the line with only seconds to go, which (probably former) Clemson basketball player would you want taking the final shot?

My timeline is relatively limited in that I didn't get to see Elden Campbell, Tree Rollins, Horace Grant, or Dale Davis, but from what I've seen, Terrell McIntyre is who I want to have the ball with four or five seconds left.

Greg Buckner.

If it's a last second dunk against UNC in the ACC tournament.

Interesting one. I remember him being a little reckless.

Mar 19, 2015, 9:44 PM

I know he scored quite a bit and was generally a fantastic player for us, but after the years with T-Mac and Ed Scott, I remember thinking Will just wasn't quite as careful with the ball and his decision making. Beer could be impacting my memory though. Sweet, sweet beer.

undoubtedly happen would be our guy would get fouled.....and promptly miss the ft

Its been uncanny over the decades how badly the Tigers have shot from the charity stripe.....I thought that last years team had finally put us on the correct path....and then we fell off this year as well

Best bb player that I have seen at CU

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

By the numbers, I go down low to Horace for the sure thing..

Mar 19, 2015, 10:03 PM

The man who hit an incredible 65.6% of his shots from the field his senior year, while averaging 21 ppg. Horace could also shoot free throws.

And the only time he was forced to take the outside shot for the win, he hit a 3 pointer at the buzzer to beat Virginia on the road.

Horace was THE MAN in the ACC for two years running.

I wish he had been around to take some buzzer beater shots as a senior at Clemson. It may have changed the trajectory of our hoops program.

So in my era i would say Terrance Oglesby. I know not many people like him but he was pretty consistent at three point shooting
