5-1 is actually worse than 9-2. 9-2 would translate to 4.5-1. Am I reading this wrong? Forgive me if I am.

Exactly... Especially when in the article it says that Fournette is the favorite with 9-2 odds. ?!?! (*scratching head)

He should be 1-1

Jun 30, 2016, 5:07 PM

You wouldn't win anything, of course, but those are the true odds. amirite

The definition of awesome!

you still win, you always get your bet back

Jun 30, 2016, 8:21 PM

sometimes in horse racing you can have odds like 1-5. You bet 5 dollars to win 1 so you lay down 5 bucks and cash in for 6 or lose your 5 bucks.

You probably understand that but others don't.

When was the last time that the preseason Heiman favorite actually won that award?

They will give the Heisman to whoever they want, just like this year, but that won't take away from the fact that DW certainly was the most deserving of the trophy last year. I don't doubt that he could be even better this year and get snubbed by the voters. He certainly starts out at a disadvantage, considering who gets to vote and the conference and media affiliations involved. I think DW's performance will again show out this year, but that still may not garner him the votes he needs. The Heisman has become a lot like the Pulitzer. Too many politics involved. IMO
