in the '90s, kinda like how Clemson football went deafeningly silent.
You know you had Boyz II Men on repeat, at least until Bieber did a cover of "End of the Road".
Get a grip, flamebot.

I would throw in Full Moon Fever. I think it actually came out in 1989, but I consider it a 90's album.

pull in Paul's Boutique, even though it feels like a 90's album too.
FMF probably feels 90's because the singles stretched into 91 it felt like on MTV.

List automatically lost when you included Smashing Pumpkins.

Pretty much any other album included would have been un-fightable. But you went and proved that people still believe everything they are told.

Satellite and Ants Marching are my two least favorite DMB songs so it really brings the album down for me.

pffffft....they were just right place at the right time.
Apr 12, 2017, 5:29 PM

Their music was more accessible than most of their speed metal counterparts of the time, and they were more masculine than their hair band counterparts so you could like em without being ashamed.
They weren't great, they just found a niche.

it was a pretty weak music decade
Apr 13, 2017, 8:16 AM
[ in reply to All of these posts have proven ] |

proven by the examples shown above. Grunge was the one saving grace for the 90s decade. But....a hundred times better than the present for sure. I don't know what the 2010's decade will be known for.
Just to contribute, imo the best '90's album is
Raw power. I never road trip without it.

It's all generational. Every decade has great music and chitty music. I think almost everything released in the past 10 years is chit but there are kids who will think it was the best decade ever

What HAS happened since the 90's (and some might argue before that) is that what gets played on mainstream radio/TV/other has continuously gotten worse and worse

is stuff like Journey, Bon Jovi, and Def Leppard. I hated that "bubble gum" rock music back in the day, thought those bands were no-talent sellouts.
But looking back on it now, they are 1000x talented than today's vocally pitch-corrected, auto-tuned, synthesized Top40 sludge. At least they played their own instruments and wrote their own music.
