that Jack should be retained as the manger of CU baseball, please step forward to receive your "I'm dumber than a rock award". It was clear to an one who ever played or coached baseball that Jack's time had come. He was, in fact. over the hill. Not physically but mentally. Too rigid, not flexible enough, no longer willing to learn from his mistakes, etc.etc.
M. Lee has got us off to one great start and the enthusiasm is very evident! He's rejuvenated the program, somehow made the players believe that they can win and there all seem to be having fun again. I salute Monty and hope this continues. As for Jack, I do wish him a wonderful retirement and thank him for what he did for the program for oh so many years.

we are 8-2 in 16. We were 7-3 in 15.
Against SC in 16 we were 2-1 by a combined score of 10-9.
Against SC in 15 we were 2-1 by a combined score of 19-8.
Think its a bit early to say "told you so" just yet. There have been some fundamental changes on and off the field that needed to be made.

Interesting stats but I am well aware of them. My post related to the significant change in attitude on the part of the players. So,me on here just can't seem to deal with the reality of at certain times it is necessary to make a coaching change and this was one of them. I'll, be sure and get to you after the season is over and you can see our record for this year.

and the resulting shot in the arm of the program. Some of those changes involved the head coach and the attitude of the team. Some of those involved the program in general. I'd say that Terry Don Phillips' lack of effort did just as much damage to the program as Jack's last few years. Both are going to take some time to overcome.

I wanted Leggett gone years ago but I was behind giving Brownell more time. I say next year is NCAAT or bust for Brownell though.

We play a series against 6 teams ranked ahead of us

SC, Miami, Louisville, GT, FSU, and NC State.
While i hope we continue to do well, we are
a young team and let's not count the chickens
before they hatch. And it's not necessary to
knock Jack when you apparently got what you
wanted and we can just be positive and hopeful
going forward.
