Like moving a plant to Mexico...cheaper, more naive labor...but also less skilled. Be interested to know the quality issues in Everett vs Charleston. Also surprised they are leaving Everett with as much infrastructure L/investment as they have there. Not to mention tier 1 suppliers located close by.

I think it has to do with Unions and or the protection of their workers and themselves.

Close suppliers are a thing of the past. You can have a company that will buy all your spare parts for you until they need them but you have to buy them all in a set time period. Most companies do that now in the 21st century. Think of BMW and how successful they are after moving into the upstate of SC. Suppliers follow the business or they get new suppliers. Boeing has that kind of leverage.

They will never find enough smart people in SC

to work for Boeing. Smart people won't want to move to SC either. West coast people are so much smarter and more woke as well.
